According to a study from the financial website WalletHub, San Diego ranked third on the list of 100 metropolitan areas around the country as the best place to have a dog. Since your four legged friend is as important as the rest of the family, I thought I would highlight a couple of my favorite things that make this city so dog-on fantastic if your a pet owner!

One of the most important things when you own a dog is knowing that there is a place where you can safely let your pet off leash and just be a dog. You can rest assured , San Diego is loaded with off leash options for your buddy. My favorite spot to take my pups is a place called Fiesta Island. Located in Mission Bay with easy access from the 5 freeway, Fiesta Island offers more than 150 acres of off-leash areas for dogs to run and play on the sand and in the water. Additionally, the island features a dedicated, 60-acre fenced area for owners who prefer extra security for their pets. Fiesta Island is accessible by a one way road that runs around the island and vehicles can pull right up on the sand and enjoy a day in the San Diego sun with their pup.
